Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Overview

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been the catalyst for the mma revolution, headed by the infamous Gracie Family.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is pre dominantly a ground fighting art focussing on submission holds with joint-locks and chokeholds. The premise is that a smaller and weaker person is able to overcome larger and stronger opponents whose advantages are neutralised against a jiu jitsu exponent when when grappling on the ground.

It is a sufficient self defence, for the small, weak, male or female to competently defend themselves against larger or aggressive opponents!

Portfolio 2

Learn with the Gi

The Traditional Gi will give you a pure understanding to how to immobilise and control your opponent, whilst on the flipside also learning to escape from the most trickiest positions.

The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu belt grading system is only done with the Gi, and there are a multitude of competitions world-wide in this competitive arena!

Portfolio 3

Learn without the Gi

The 'No Gi' game is a fast past hi-octane combat style, requiring a hi-level of skill to immobilise, detain and control opponents.

This is the closest to MMA simulation without strikes, no grips, slippery opponents and an altogether different style of fighting than with the Gi. A very exciting variation of brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

No Gi migrates into many other competitions such as mma, grappling contests like the ADCC, and many more. This grappling arena allows all types of grappling arts (such as the many forms of wrestling, sambo, and many more) to compete against eachother in the same compeitions.

About Our Company

The art began with Mitsuyo Maeda, a Japanese expert judoka. Maeda was one of five of the Kodokan's top groundwork experts sent overseas to spread Judo to the world.
